I've been using Focusmate for 3 days now and I CANNOT recommend it enough! My productivity levels increased dramatically after I started using this simple app.
My lesson: Do NOT underestimate the power of an accountability partner. Even if they're complete strangers. Honestly, I think at least one of you would become addicted to this app after trying it out.
Advantages of using Focusmate:
1. Focusmate has an amazing community where people gather for one sole reason: getting things done. It's a community of doers.
2. I've worked with 30+ different people so far, and in each session, I made incremental progress with my work.
3. You can now take a breather and stop relying on your willpower to get things done. Just find someone willing to be your accountability partner.
4. Every session on Focusmate lasts either 25 minutes or 50 minutes.
5. If you want to continue working, you can immediately book another session which starts after 5 minutes. So, you get either 5-minute or 10-minute breaks between each session you book.
6. If you're uncomfortable working with a certain gender type, you can always change your preference in settings. I haven't yet had any bad experiences with anyone. So, I'd suggest you stick with default settings if you want the full experience of Focusmate.
7. You can always block and report people if you are uncomfortable.
8. I unlocked 5.6+ hours of sweet deep work last Friday and this Monday using Focusmate.

Disadvantages of using Focusmate:
1. I don't have too many complaints but I do have a lot of feature requests for them.
2. I wish they have a 'badges' feature so I can share my wins when it comes to productivity on social media.
